21 weeks...5 months

Well we survived the long drive to Padre....it took us 3 days to get there. We left late on Friday night, (like 11) and drove to Fort Worth, we got up to meet Jessie and Colby for breakfast in Waco, then continued to Harlingen. Then on Sunday we went to church, where our car was hit by a non member, I still don't know if they have insurance, we had their license plate number so we'll see. Luckily, it wasn't that bad and the car was still drivable. After grocery shopping Cooper, Jeremy, and I headed over to watch Jeremy's little brother in a basketball game. Ponder was playing in a tournament so we went to watch since we don't get to see him play very much. After the game we took Cooper out to the beach, where he liked to eat the sand, and didn't like the cold water to much. But its okay cause neither did I. Monday was your typical day at the beach, he took a nap with grandpa, and just hung out....until we learned that Dolly was fast approaching. On Tuesday we woke up to a gloomy day, very windy, but huge waves, so everyone but Jeni, Lydia, Cooper, and I went out to the beach to play in the waves. Wednesday was spent inside, while we all watched the hurricane, lost power, and my mom broke her arm. Well, hurricanes are similar to tornados...except tornados are usually over a lot faster. On Thursday we discovered we wouldn't have power for at least 72 hours...so we went for one last walk on a very wet beach and then headed to San Antonio. We had Rebecca's blessing at dinner, where David and Leslie joined our trip and then on Friday went to Sea World which was fun. We ate dinner at the Hard Rock on the River Walk. We made a stop in San Marcos at the outlet mall then continued home. So in all 3 days to the beach, 3 days home, 1 day in a hurricane and 2 days at the beach....now I'm spent. Well, that's the highlights of the vacation, but below is a nice little pictorial of the trip...enjoy! Hope your summer vacation wasn't ruined by Dolly....no I'm not bitter....okay maybe just a little bitter towards Dolly, but we still had fun!
