Pumpkin Carving 09

Every year we carve pumpkins at my grandparents, this was Cooper's first year to really participate, although he was there last year, I think he had some fun this year!

Who gave that kid a knife?

Getting his eyes out,

Come on slow pokes, I'm done!

Everyone who was able to come:

Cooper and his pumpkin, he carved it "all by himself!" (with a little help from grandpa!)

Pumpkin Patch

We took Cooper to the Pumpkin Patch last Saturday. He loved running around, seeing the animals, and picking out his pumpkin! See the proof below!

Petting the Sheep, his favorite animal!

He led us through the maze, we didn't even get lost!

This was about the longest we could get him to sit still.

I'll take this one!

Me with Cooper, not something you see too much!

Dad with Cooper!

He's just getting too big!

Weekend Fun

Jeremy came home last Wednesday night for all of Fall Break, so it was great to see him for more then 24 hours! Since we haven't had a family night for a while, my parents, brothers, sis-in-law, and our family went out to Red Pin for dinner and bowling. You can rent a lane down there for $50, for 6 people to bowl for an hour. I think that includes shoes, and I like bowling there. It's fun, they've got the big TVs, and you can order food while you bowl, and your drink never runs dry! Here is Cooper during family bowling night:

Then on Saturday we enjoyed the TX/OU game, I took a picture of Cooper pointing to Bevo, but his eyes are scary red and I don't feel like fixing them. Super blue eyes always turn out red, I'm going to have to work on this one! Hook em' horns! Right after the game (3:00) we had a showing so Jeremy and Cooper went to my parents and I went to a photo shoot downtown.

Sunday, after I decided I needed to go mid-week, I enjoyed worship at Capital Hill, then the Black Eyed Peas/U2 concert in Norman. I have seen a lot of concerts in my days, I love going, but this was definitely a top 5 show in my book, they were so great. Bono is a Rock Star!

So that's what we've been up too, there's a few other things going on, but I'll save that for a different post!

It's 3:47 am....I've been awake for a while. Why? I'm sure it has happened to you, your mind is running 1000 miles a minute. I'm thinking I should roll out those sugar cookies I have to make for Jeremy's fall fastival at Pittsburg, or maybe I should pick up the house a little bit, finish cleaning the kitchen? But we all know I'm not going to do those things at 3 whatever in the morning. So, I'll settle for catching up on blogs, updating this one with a random post, and blogging for my food post tomorrow. At least that gives me 1 less thing to do!

Conductor Cooper

Cooper has really been into trains lately. He plays constantly at my mom's house with my brother's old train tracks. When my friend told me she was taking her niece to see Thomas the Train, I thought Cooper would love to go! He has a Thomas that he got at Christmas last year, that about a month ago he became attached to. We had to take it to church one Sunday where he proudly ran it on the "track" (church pew) in front of us. Lucky for us the girl sitting there was very nice about our son playing with his train. Now he can turn that train on, so it won't be making another appearance at church. We had a lovely few hours at a Day with Thomas! Cooper also got to ride on a train, although the scenery is nothing like the lovely train rides in Europe, he did very well for the 25 minute ride!

are you kidding....

One of my loyal cooking blog readers left this comment for me:

Did you read about this blog where a woman is doing the same thing you are? She's going to be on Rachael's talk show tomorrow. She's getting married, wanted to learn to cook, and has only been doing it since August. How come she gets on the show and you don't? You've been cooking Rachael's recipes daily for months!

Here is the link if you'd like to see her blog.

Apparently they think it's about as fair as I think it is....I looked at her blog, and mine is different then hers, more explanation BUT she got to be on the Rachael Ray show....I'm guessing cause she needed to learn how to cook, but still what is it going to take to get on that show?

Feel free to write Rachael Ray and tell her about me. I have a feeling I can kiss my chances goodbye....(insert sad face with tear here).

one lucky fella!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of a quick, we're talking 15 minutes, photoshoot of 8 senior girls. I wish I could've spent more time with them, because they were fun and just lovely! But that's all we had! I can't share the pictures on my website or blog yet, luckily we had about 6 good ones, out of 6 poses, of 8 girls, with very windy conditions. Below is my favorite one, (I'm allowed to share it!)

The girls wanted to take a group picture with Cooper cause they thought he was so cute....I should've taken it because when he turned about 13, he probably would've thought it was cool! He joined them in one pose, but then quickly ran back to his favorite older sister Colby. Needless to say he got a lot of attention from them in the short time we were all together, he loved every minute of it!
